I completed about 130 scans of prints at 600 dpi, 24-bit color. 48-bit color was a possibility, but I'm not sure there would be any visible benefit even when targeting enlarged prints. The scanning itself goes fairly quickly, but the real work comes from trying to figure out how best to organize the originals and the files.
